How to transfer a domain from HostGator to NameCheap

Hello Everyone, Are you looking to transfer your domain from Hostgator to Namecheap then you are at the very right place.

Will guide you on how to transfer a domain from Hostgator to Namecheap.

Let’s Get Started:-

First, you need to go to the NameCheap domain dashboard

👉 Now you need to toggle to the transfer button and paste the domain name you want to transfer to NameCheap.

As you can see in the above image your domain name is eligible for transfer. You would get this message after you paste your domain name.

👉Now you need to verify your domain for the transfer and checkboxes next to the corresponding fields.

👉Make sure you unlock the domain name for transfer.

How to unlock your domain at HostGator

• Simply, login to the HostGator Account.
• Click Manage Domains.
• Click on the domain name you would like to unlock.
• In the left-hand menu, click the Domain Locking tab.
• Select the Locking OFF radio button on the Domain Locking page to unlock the domain.
• Click Save Domain Locking.

👉 After you unlock the domain you need to verify auth code.

👉 You need to provide the Auth/EPP code to complete the process.

👉 After you verify the auth code then you will need to complete the payment at the NameCheap.

As you can see in the above image, I recently transferred my Hostgator domain to Namecheap.

👉 After you complete the process. You would receive an email regarding your transfer from Hostgator

👉 You just have to confirm the email and proceed further with your transfer. The process might take a few days.
